CBS Grand Challenges in Biology Postdoctoral Program

Rationale

Understanding and predicting the behavior of complex biological systems requires a framework that can integrate across levels of biological organization and incorporate and facilitate mechanistic understanding. These are the stimuli that drive future research in biology. Meeting this challenge requires a multidisciplinary approach that involves strong integration (or re- integration) of molecular biology with organismal biology.

Hutchinson Environmental Postdoctoral Fellows

The Yale Institute for Biospheric Studies (YIBS) was established in 1990 through a generous bequest from Yale alumnus Edward P. Bass. YIBS is an umbrella environmental science organization that supports the environmental community at Yale University through research and training, grants and fellowships, and weekly seminars and events (yibs.yale.edu). The newly established Hutchinson Environmental Program, named in honor of G.

T32 Postdoctoral Fellowship in Biology of Aging

Funded by the NIH/NIA, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Division of Geriatrics, Biology of Aging and Age Related Diseases T32 training grant focuses on the basic mechanisms of aging, preventative interventions, and clinical problems encountered by older adults. At the University of Wisconsin (UW) – Madison, this grant provides career development for exceptional postdoctoral scholars through mentored training with our 35 mentors, the Biology of Aging Seminar series, and conferences.

Katharine H. Putnam Fellowships in Plant Science

The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University invites applicants for research fellowships in plant science. Putnam Fellowships offer excellent opportunities for advanced research and study using the Arboretum’s living collections of woody plants. Scientists with a PhD and who have identified an independent research project that would utilize the Arboretum’s living collections are encouraged to apply.
