Background

The Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) invites applications for two postdoctoral positions to work with Drs. Martha Boyer and Julia Roman-Duval, and collaborators. The successful applicant(s) will work on either (or both) of two JWST programs. Both programs target the metal-poor nearby galaxy Sextans A with JWST imaging and spectroscopy and focus on understanding how dust forms and evolves in this extremely metal-poor environment. The Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate to work on HST observational studies of distant galaxies, low-redshift analogs, and galaxy cluster lenses. Completed observations include ACS and WFC3/IR imaging and COS and STIS spectroscopy. Additional observations are anticipated from accepted HST and JWST programs.

The Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in transient astrophysics. The researcher will be part of a joint research group at STScI, which includes senior researchers Dr. Armin Rest, Dr. Suvi Gezari, Dr. Lou Strolger, and Dr. Ori Fox, and their collaborators. The position is for two years, with a third year possible contingent upon performance and continued funding.

The Advanced Study Program at The National Center for Atmospheric Research invites applications for Postdoctoral Fellowships in areas broadly related to NCAR strategic priorities (ncar.ucar.edu/who-we-are/strategic-plan), including Earth system science and actionable science. Candidates should have completed their Ph.D. or should expect to complete their degree requirements by October 2022. Applications from all related fields are welcomed.

Joshua Peek and Claire Murray and collaborators (including Dr. Karl Gordon and Profs. Susan Clark and Erika Hamden) on studies of the diffuse ISM using archival GALEX and 21-cm data, with advanced statistical modeling and machine learning techniques.

The Photon Science Department at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, Stanford University invites applications for an open rank, tenure line position at the Assistant Professor level or a tenured position at the Associate or Full Professor level.
