The Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is inviting applications for faculty positions across Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels. Our department is at the forefront of interdisciplinary research, combining elements of computational biology, molecular engineering, therapeutic bioengineering, and pharmacogenomics, among others. We are especially interested in candidates pioneering artificial intelligence/machine learning applications in biological contexts.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a doctoral degree (Ph.D., Pharm.D./Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D.) and demonstrate a record of significant research achievements. Candidates should articulate a clear, innovative research agenda with potential implications for discovery science and human health. A commitment to student mentorship and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion is essential.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to establish a dynamic research program and contribute to our highly ranked interdisciplinary graduate programs. Mentorship of students and active participation in the department’s academic community are key responsibilities.

Compensation and Benefits:

UCSF offers competitive salaries (base salary range $118,000-$309,800), generous research start-up packages, and recruitment allowances. Additional compensation through the health sciences compensation plan is available. Faculty development programs and mentorship training are also supported.
