Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Biomedical Science

University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking visionary scientists to join our vibrant and collaborative discovery research community. This open-rank, tenure-track faculty position is part of a multiyear initiative to foster equity and inclusion in biomedical research and to promote the success of our diverse student population. Candidates are expected to hold a Ph.D., to have demonstrated significant research accomplishment and potential, and to be committed to the mentorship of students - particularly students from groups that are underrepresented in biomedical science.

Candidates working in all areas of fundamental biomedical science are welcome to apply. Depending on the area of research specialization, the successful candidate can choose to be appointed in any of our basic science departments (Anatomy, Biochemistry and Biophysics, Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences, Cell and Tissue Biology, Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology, Microbiology and Immunology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and Physiology).

The successful candidate will be expected to establish a dynamic and interactive research program, to join one of our top-ranked interdisciplinary graduate programs (see graduate.ucsf.edu/list-programs), to excel at graduate teaching and inclusive mentoring, and to participate in activities that promote equity and inclusion. Service and teaching expectations are comparable to those of any other tenure-track faculty position. Faculty appointment will be made at a professorial rank commensurate with current academic standing. UCSF offers competitive salaries, research set-up funds, and recruitment allowances, and has numerous opportunities for faculty development and further training in mentorship.
